STBA has been providing racket stringing support for all Yonex badminton rackets in the West. In fact, this badminton racket restring started way back in 2002 for his club members.
STBA has more than 15 years of experience in racket stringing. During the last few years, STBA only does restringing for their badminton academy students and professional players.
Our Certified Stringer stays in Jurong area. Furthermore, most of his friends and members are from nearby Bukit Gombak, Chua Chu Kang and Clementi area which is not far from the West area of Singapore.
JAPAN ELECTRONIC STRINGING MACHINE
Most of the rackets of the world professional badminton players are using Yonex Protech 8 Electronic machine to restring their rackets. We are also using the same model to do restringing of badminton rackets. This is to make sure that our badminton academy members and students do not have to worry about our quality and specialization when we restring their rackets.
Secondly, this machine is able to deliver high accuracy standard for restring. In addition, this machine was selected and used during the Olympic and All England Game Open from 2012 – 2018 for all International Country National Players. The machine’s accuracy is +/- 0.5lbs.
Very often, people are curious as to why we still need to send this machine for calibration. This machine, Yonex Protech 8 Electronic machine is the world’s No. 1 stringing machine. Why need to spend another $350/- for calibration? On top of this, you only get paid $10/- for an hour of racket restring. Is the extra cost justifiable?
Eric: It is true that the machine is accurate. We also have to understand that after some time, the quality may change, nobody knows when. So the best solution in order to make sure that my machine is always accurate is to send for calibration. Moreover if quality is important to you, then you do not care about the cost.
Last but not least, I feel totally satisfied when I see my students enjoy playing with their rackets to the maximum. I feel that the $10/- paid for my labour fees is worth every cent.
I probably love badminton too much so I do not think money is an issue.

RACKET RESTRINGING MACHINE CALIBRATED TRACEABLE TO SINGAPORE NATIONAL STANDARD
This machine is always sent for testing and inspection. At the same time, we always make sure that the laboratory must be of SAC SINGLAS IEC/ISO 17025 standard or International Standard.
By doing so, we are assured that our machine is within specific tolerance and accuracy. This electronic machine is calibrated every 6 months. This is because we personally are most concerned about accuracy. Making profit comes later.
On top of this, our Stringer, Mr Eric Chuar is also a qualified Badminton Coach. He always believe that stringing skill is just as important as having an accurate machine. The same can be said for badminton skill which should go hand in hand with a properly restrung racket. They are both related and equally important.

Here, the stringing machine is tested with 5 calibration point from 26lbs – 32lbs Singlas SAC company. For more clarification on full certificate.
To maintain output quality of racket restring, Eric is willing to spend extra money. As the saying goes, nobody knows when the machine will lose it’s accuracy. So it is best to spend some money to get it calibrated. Furthermore, it must be calibrated by a laboratory having SAC SINGLAS IEC/ISO 17025 standard.
STRINGING COST
Eric is always trying out new badminton stringing patterns and also new strings.
In detail Eric said “ As a CBS (Certified Badminton Stringer), I need to know where is the priority stringing part plus what type of string is suitable for which racket technology.
Besides, it is important to realise that the world no 1 badminton player will no longer be no 1 after a few years. Likewise, racket restringing machine technology will also change after a few years.
In conclusion, do not always think that BG66 Ultimax is always the best. You will realise this when you change to other types of string. By doing so, you will ultimately gain more knowledge.
